What is stored, and what is never done
Stored: your email address, the sections and clubs you picked, whether you ticked the Beyond-football shelf, any more-like-this or less-like-this presses you confirm from an email, and the date, IP address and browser string of this form and of your confirmation click. Those last two are the evidence that you asked for this; they are erased after 36 months.
Stored where: one append-only file on one machine — not a cloud database, and never uploaded into a marketing platform's contact list.
No tracking. No list sales. There is no advertiser and no data partner, because there is no product here to sell you either.
No cookies. This page sets none, which is also why there is no cookie banner to dismiss.
No tracking pixel and no open tracking. The email contains zero images, so there is nothing to load and nothing to report back. We genuinely do not know whether you opened it.
No click tracking. Story links go straight to the publisher, untagged and unwrapped.
Leave in one click, from a link in every email, with no page to argue with. Ask us to delete you and the address is stripped out of the file itself, not flagged as deleted.
Your rights. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), and you can withdraw it at any time without giving a reason. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link and a link to your own record, and from that page you can download everything held about you (Art. 15/20) or erase it outright (Art. 17) — the address is stripped out of the file itself, not flagged as deleted.
